Ntaribi went missing at the same time as the July 2007 massacre in the Rugendo family - he is now presumed dead, bringing the total death toll of the massacre to 6.

He was born in February 2006 and was still very little, but he was a typical gorilla in that he liked to play and fool around. He was still often with his mother Macibiri (in the photo to the right), but he would play a lot with Ndeze, Safari’s child who is now orphaned, also as a result of the massacre.

Although Ntaribi was in the Rugendo family, his father was actually Kabirizi, as Macibiri used to be in the Kabirizi family until she migrated in 2005.

Undoubtedly Ntaribi is sorely missed by his siblings Jeshi and Kanyalire.
